Did you know that nearly everyone who walks the earth can point out a German Shepherd?
We know it sounds pretty unbelievable, but it’s true. German Shepherd (GSD) qualities are so recognizable, nearly everyone who has any sort of love for dogs knows a German Shepherd when they see one, and can pick one out of the crowd if asked to.
German Shepherds are one of the most popular breeds in the police force.
There’s no doubt about it, German Shepherds are often utilized by the police because of their intelligence, loyalty, sentinels, courage and obedience. Good German Shepherd qualities include having the ability to become highly trained, and doing what it takes to provide their master with the commitment needed, even if that means laying down their own life for their master. For these reasons and more, this breed is an excellent choice for the police force.Their pose is a bit different than other dogs.
When comparing a German Shepherd to other dogs in a show presentation, a German Shepherd has a very unique “pose.” Many dogs we see have a conventional “square” stack (all four legs under the body), or an extended stack (two legs stacked under the body and the rear legs extended behind the body). The German Shepherd is unique in that it features one back leg extended and one back leg stacked under the body; the front legs are both stacked.
