Yorkshire terriers were originally bred to hunt rats.
These tiny little dogs were initially bred to as exterminators. Believe it or not, this breed came around mid 1800’s as a means of eliminating rats, mice and other forms of rodents that were commonly found in the coal mines, weavers and various other businesses.
